At Network Marketing we often get asked the question “What’s it like to work in an agency?”. Obviously there’s a host of different answers to this question and different agencies operate in different ways. We’ve highlighted the 5 things that we tell people are great about working in an agency.
The diversity of working with different clients and brands
Some of the worlds biggest brands trust agencies with their marketing mix from print through to digital. You could find yourself working on projects for large FMCG brands through to global entertainment companies. The possibilities are endless.
Cool offices
Finding a marketing agency without a cool office is rare. Whether it’s a football or pool table set up in the corner or a few bean bag chairs in the break out room – these all contribute to the creative environment and drive creative thinking in an agency. You can also leave your suit and tie at home – it’s casual Friday everyday once you step into agency doors!
Travelling
Sometimes Skype won’t cut it and handling accounts for big brands can often require you to travel regionally, nationally and sometimes even globally to pitch ideas or meet particular people in your clients team. Jet setting is quite the sell for people looking to get into an agency environment!
The social
Alongside ping pong tables, it’s not rare for agencies to have fully loaded beer fridges in the office (craft ale for our creative and design friends). It’s usually 4pm on a Friday you can expect these fridges to get raided! Some agencies even have a prized office pooch which you can probably expect to see running round at some point!
See creative ideas come to life
The sociable side of agencies is second to none – but the work isn’t far off too. Having the freedom to work on different brands means you can generate ideas and follow them through to delivery and watch them come to life knowing the part you played.
