As the spooky campaigns of Halloween fade into distant memory, the nation now turns its attention to the next weekend of pagan entertainment; Bonfire night! Now I could focus this blog on the implicit message of the real Guy Fawkes, a man who believed that a Parliament could not control a country, a man who believed that the poor will always be able to stand up to the power of authority through protest… But instead I thought a light hearted theme of some equally explosive advertising campaigns would suffice.
6: We kick of this advertising display with a ROCKET of an advert from Nissan. This particular ad highlights their resilient new 4x4 and shows just how much of a bang a good advert can make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3i9DQpDdQk
5: SONOS have delivered a brilliant advertisement to underline how EXPLOSIVE their multi-room sound system is. (Maybe invest in one before your pooch gets too scared of the fireworks?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoPZYWXtYys
4: At 10,000 frames per second Schweppes wanted to give their audience a moment of Scheppervescence - these balloons last longer than a pound shop sparkler! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRFfJJjLpqw#action=share
3: Does the smell of gunpowder in the air fill you with a sense of dread? Do not despair! Terry Crews has the answer (he always does). Old Spice are renowned for their off the wall advertising and this one is no different; crazy as a Catherine Wheel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCl5uyn5K7k
2: The ‘Sound of Taste’ for Flavour Shots creates a visual feast. This can act as your warm up to the thunderous explosions of a Roman Candle!
1: Now for the finale... You’ve braved the elements and shoved through the crowds… Now it is time for the big finish! This paint explosion by SONY BRAVIA has to be as colourful as any firework display (although probably a bit messier to clean up ion the morning!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkccLWsri0o Have any red hot advertising campaigns you'd like to add?
