I have to admit up front that I'm a big fan of rugby. I'm not an expert but love everything that the game stands for and the values that you see being engendered every Sunday morning in junior rugby - Teamwork, Respect, Discipline, Sportsmanship, Enjoyment. When things aren't going right, that's when you draw on values like these and I honestly think that the England team and the wider rugby world have demonstrated this over the last 6 days. Here's why.
1. Teamwork Mike Brown almost brought a tear to my eye in his thank you to supporters after the loss against Australia
2. Respect Twenty-eight minutes in to the South Africa vs Scotland match Lood de Jager of South Africa is off side. He's a 6ft 9 inch, 19 stone 2nd Row. His response having been warned by the referee? "Sorry Sir". 3. Discipline Nigel Owens -legendary refereeing... "I don't think we have met before, but I am the referee on this field not you. Stick to your job and I'll do mine. If I hear you shouting for anything else again I will penalise you. This is not soccer" https://youtu.be/rARiJ6-1E6A Have a great week.
